21. superficial supermen, artificial souls worn thin

Filed under: i am the fire that flares up again — Jonathan Douglas Duran @ 2:19 pm

If I were to blow my own horn it would sound like an air-raid siren warning me of my impending doom. However I shouldn’t be so foolish as to thrust my assumptions upon such a methodically faked life. I would not be so brash as to disregard your explanations, so by the same token I hope you take it upon yourselves to make no assumptions on my behalf. The title of this collection is indeed a noun and not a verb. The clear lines of language will show us this truth from now until the end of all things.

Our systems (such as language) give us very particular lines that make it painfully obvious when we step outside of them. Sometimes you have to kill the ant with a sledgehammer. Like a puzzle you’re forced to color in yourself. The edges of all the pieces are entirely up to you to define. You could make them fit as neatly and as obviously as you wanted. Or you could force them all, cause their edges to adjust to your distortions.
